Poem: Echoes of Existence

June 21, 2010

There lives an echo on the streets
Where she once travelled and breathed
As time has drawn its daggers to end
The old trail of love and laughter
There lives a father in his pain
Weaved in memories, in that cottage
From its beginnings to the end

There lives an echo, in his atrium
Where once existed, the old magic
From the old cause of change,
As where she once travelled
As oceans finds their paths,
Into the unknowns, into the known
There lives an echo in her last breaths
Through those corridors of the hospital
There lives a street without its occupant

Only the time and history will bring
Of all what she did, for the movement
To pursue this grand old dream of progression
There lives an echo with its existence
There lives a street without its occupant,
There lives a father, without its symphony
In the old atrium, come they all to play
The old conversations and echoes and existence

There lives an echo, in his old heart
There lives a life, in his mind,
There lives a butterfly, in his soul
Through those steppes of existence, entrapped
As million years of travel and its capture
The final present, the final gift from Providence
Returned, as the green birds of heaven welcome
The echoes of existence, echoes of memory

There lives an echo on the streets....
Where she once travelled and breathed
The old trail of love and laughter
There lives a heart without its occupant!
